Our Board of Directors is comprised of a diverse group of experienced leaders who bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to guide Hillcrest Village Community Players toward achieving our mission and goals.
With backgrounds spanning various industries, they are dedicated to fostering innovation, ensuring accountability, and making a lasting impact. Together, they provide strategic direction and oversight to help us create value and drive positive change.
Calvin Liu
Calvin Liu is a Toronto-based strategy consultant with over four years of experience in business strategy and team leadership. Growing up in a musically inclined household, Calvin played a variety of instruments and developed an appreciation for the arts early on. With a sister who was actively involved in theatre, he always appreciated the magic of theatre and its ability to bring people together.
Calvin is excited to bring his professional skills and personal passion for music and theatre to Hillcrest Village Players. He looks forward to supporting the local arts community in Toronto, collaborating with a dedicated team, and helping theatre in Toronto continues to have the space to delight and inspire.
Catherine Mihevc
Catherine Mihevc graduated from Ivey Business School with a dual degree in business and Health Sciences, and now practices as a Strategy Consultant within Accenture's Health Practice. She grew up in the Hillcrest Village neighbourhood, travelling far and wide to participate in the arts and perform in musicals. She looks forward to using her business skillset and experience in the performing arts space to support Hillcrest Village Community Players and their mission to increase the accessibility of participating in the performing arts and engaging with community.Â
Emilio Vieira
Emilio Vieira is an Ontario based theatre-maker currently working primarily as an actor. In 2025, you can catch Emilio in the thrilling, action-packed,HEIST at The Grand Theatre in London; and at The Stratford Festival in Robert Lepage'sMacbeth, and Antoni Cimolino's The Winter's Tale. During the pandemic, Emilio and his collaborator Ellen Denny launched Sudden Spark Collective; a production company aimed at writing and producing stories for pandemic-weary hearts. Their theatre/film hybrid productions february: a love story andAbove Ground Floor premiered to much acclaim, with thousands of viewers from around the globe. As an involved community member of the city of Stratford, Emilio and the Stratford Festival Cricket Team have worked with city officials to build Stratford's first permanent cricket ground, in honour of the team's founder Mervyn "Butch" Blake. The Butch Blake Memorial Cricket Ground will see its inaugural match in the spring of 2025.
Emilio is honoured to serve on the Board of Directors of the Hillcrest Village Community Players as they foster a passionate theatre making community and expand access to community theatre involvement within the city of Toronto.Â
Nadia Ladak
Nadia Ladak is the co-founder and CEO of Marlow, a fast-growing FemTech and women’s health startup offering the first lubricated tampon for smoother and more comfortable insertion. Nadia has raised $2 million in funding to fuel the brand’s growth, including earning $700,000 in non-dilutive grants and pitch competitions from the Entrepreneurship World Cup, Visa She’s Next Program, Pepsi Co Stacy's Rise Program, and more.
Her personal mission is to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders. She is a member of the G20 Young Entrepreneur Alliance where she works with government leaders to advocate for policy related to youth entrepreneurship and an entrepreneur in residence at her alma mater, the Ivey Business School. As a public speaker with the Canadian Youth Speakers Bureau, she has delivered over 100 keynote presentations globally across different universities, high schools, and business conferences.
In 2023, Nadia appeared on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, season 18 of CBC’s Dragon’s Den, and was awarded the YWCA Young Woman of Distinction.
Nadia is excited to be on the Hillcrest Village Community Players Board of Directors as music has always been a huge part of her life. She grew up doing Royal Conservatory of Music voice and played guitar and piano. She was in every musical theatre production at her school and sang in the choir. She believes that music and the arts bring people together and she is excited to play a small part in that with the Hillcrest Village Community.
